FAQs

What is an HSA/FSA account?

Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) let you set aside pre-tax dollars for qualified health expenses. Because the money is never taxed, spending it on eligible products saves you an average of about 30% compared to paying out of pocket.

What is Truemed?

Truemed is a payment integration that enables qualified customers to use HSA/FSA funds on products that help treat, mitigate, or prevent health conditions. Truemed partners with licensed providers to issue Letters of Medical Necessity where appropriate.

How do I qualify to use my HSA/FSA through Truemed?

After checkout, Truemed sends you a short health survey. A licensed provider reviews your responses and, if sleep improvement is medically appropriate for you, issues a Letter of Medical Necessity that makes your purchase reimbursable through your HSA/FSA.

What if I don't have my HSA/FSA card at checkout?

You can pay with a regular credit or debit card through Truemed at checkout, then submit your itemized receipt and Letter of Medical Necessity to your plan administrator for reimbursement.

What if I don't have enough funds in my account to cover the full purchase?

Most administrators allow you to split payment — use your remaining HSA/FSA balance and pay the difference with a personal card, or pay in full now and submit for partial reimbursement. Check with your plan administrator for specifics.

What if my HSA/FSA payment is rejected by my administrator?

Reach out to Truemed's support team — they'll help you resolve the issue with your administrator or process the payment another way. Every plan is different, and some administrators require the itemized receipt and Letter of Medical Necessity to be submitted manually.

Can I apply my HSA/FSA funds to a past Loftie purchase?

Reimbursement of past purchases depends on your plan administrator's rules. If you qualify through Truemed, you can submit your Letter of Medical Necessity along with your original receipt to your administrator and request reimbursement.

If I'm not approved, what happens?

If a provider determines an HSA/FSA purchase isn't medically appropriate for you, your order still goes through as a standard purchase — you simply won't receive a Letter of Medical Necessity, and the purchase won't be eligible for pre-tax reimbursement.
